“Heart Safe Cities” is approved in the framework of the Cross Border
Cooperation Programme Interreg IPA CBC «CCI 2014 TC 16 I5CB 009» and it is
implemented by 4 partners of Greece and the Republic of North Macedonia.
aims to contribute to the effective management of out-of-hospital cardiac
arrest incidents, as well as to the provision of first aid within the urban
limits. The project is coherent with the Heart Safe Communities Programme, in a
systematic effort to manage such incidents, not only by health practitioners
but also by trained citizens.

Enhance the capabilities of the medical staff
of Thessaloniki and Ohrid
Boost the cooperation between the cross border
health units of the two countries
Procurement of 30 AEDs for the Municipality of
Upgrade of medical response in emergencies
Development of a pilot application to track
Training of 500 health practitioners in ILS
Training of 3.500 citizens in BLS-AED
Training of 300 citizens as BLS-AED
All the training activities constitute
official courses of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) with include
appropriate certifications for the participants who succeed.
Registrations to the courses will be performed
through the ERC Membership Portal (COSY).
The project is
co-financed by 85% of the European Union and by 15% of the National
Contribution of Greece and the Republic of North Macedonia in the framework of
the Cross Border Cooperation Programme Interreg IPA CBC «CCI 2014 TC 16 I5CB
